Silas Demary Jr. Commits To USC, Boosting Trojans 2026 Recruiting Class...

Four-star guard Silas Demary Jr. announced his commitment to USC on Monday, giving the Trojans a major boost for their 2026 recruiting class. The 6'5" standout from Raleigh, North Carolina, chose USC over finalists NC State and Georgia after an intense recruitment process.

Demary, ranked No. 32 nationally by 247Sports, is trending as his decision shakes up the college basketball landscape. His commitment marks USC's first major 2026 pickup under new head coach Eric Musselman, who took over the program last month after Andy Enfield's departure.

The athletic combo guard told ESPN his decision came down to USC's player development track record and Musselman's NBA connections. Demary averaged 18.7 points, 6.2 rebounds, and 4.1 assists last season for Word of God Christian Academy, drawing comparisons to former Trojan Evan Mobley.

USC fans flooded social media with excitement after Demary's announcement. The Trojans now hold the No. 7 spot in early 2026 class rankings, with analysts predicting more top recruits could follow Demary to Los Angeles.

Demary becomes the latest elite prospect from North Carolina to leave the state for college. His commitment continues a growing trend of West Coast programs successfully recruiting East Coast talent, with USC landing three top-50 players from the region since 2023.

The rising junior plans to sign during the early period in November 2025. His decision comes as USC prepares to join the Big Ten conference, offering increased national exposure that reportedly influenced his choice.
