Coachella 2026 Ticket Prices Surge As Festival Nears...

Coachella ticket prices have spiked in the secondary market as the 2026 festival approaches, with resale platforms listing general admission passes for over $1,000. The annual music event in Indio, California, kicks off its first weekend on April 17, driving last-minute demand from fans scrambling to attend.

Official passes sold out within hours when they first went on sale last June, with base prices starting at $549 for general admission. Now, resale sites like StubHub and Vivid Seats show tickets averaging $1,200–$1,500, nearly triple face value. VIP packages are fetching upwards of $3,000.

The surge comes as headliners Rihanna, Tyler, The Creator, and Dua Lipa draw heightened interest. Secondary market prices typically peak in the final weeks before the festival, but this year’s increases are steeper than usual. Scalpers are capitalizing on limited inventory and high demand.

Social media has erupted with complaints from fans priced out of attending. Some are turning to waitlists or payment plans, while others are opting for single-day tickets, which start at $299 face value but now resell for $600+. Coachella organizers have warned against counterfeit tickets, urging buyers to use verified resale partners.

The festival’s economic impact extends beyond tickets, with nearby hotels and Airbnb listings also seeing price hikes. Local businesses in the Coachella Valley are preparing for the influx of 125,000 daily attendees. The event generates an estimated $700 million for the region annually.

Google search interest for "Coachella tickets" has doubled in the past week as the festival nears. Many are comparing this year’s prices to 2025, when resale tickets peaked at around $900. Industry analysts attribute the increase to pent-up demand after last year’s rainy weekend and stronger lineup buzz.

Coachella’s parent company, AEG Presents, has not commented on the secondary market surge. The festival runs for two weekends, with the second set for April 24–26. For those still hoping to attend, experts recommend monitoring official resale channels for last-minute price drops.
